Cuyahoga Employment & Family Services

Cuyahoga Employment & Family Services operates a range of programs that serve and support our County’s residents of modest financial means. The agency is responsible for moving people receiving cash assistance into the workforce in accordance with the mandated guidelines laid down by the federal government and by the State of Ohio. Through a geographically decentralized system of seven Neighborhood Family Services Centers, the client population is offered referrals for job readiness, job search, job training as well as the provision of other family supports such as Medicaid, Food Stamps, Child Care, PRC and Healthy Start, which is a no-cost children’s health insurance program.

What is our role in Cuyahoga Tapestry System of Care?
Children and their families who are receiving services through the system of care may also avail themselves, if eligible, to the programs administered by Employment & Family Services. Healthy Start is especially important because the program pays for medical care, including psychological services, for children and teens up to their 19th birthday.
